Directorate of Private Schools & Kindergartens Review (DPS) is one of the directorates at the Education and Training Quality Authority (BQA) which was officially set up in 2008 as an independent body governed and supervised by the Cabinet.
The DPS is responsible for reviewing, monitoring and reporting on students’ achievement and the quality of teaching and learning in private schools according to set of standards that are published and match best international practices. The main objective of the DPS is to help private schools to improve, by providing external concise and impartial reviews and improvement recommendations.
The review process focusses on students’ growth both personally and academically. It also focuses on the quality of teaching, learning and assessment practices, and effectiveness of leadership practices in the facilitation of successful and enjoyable learning experiences to students and supporting teachers.
Directorate’s main responsibilities
