BQA Board Holds its Regular Meeting

The Board of Directors of the Education and Training Quality Authority (BQA) held its regular board meeting, chaired by His Excellency Mr. Ayman Bin Tawfiq Al-Moayyad, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, BQA Chairman, in the presence of the BQA Chief Executive, Dr. Maryam Hassan Mustafa.

 

At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency the BQA Chairman of the Board of Directors congratulated Dr. Maryam Mustafa, on her appointment as BQA CE under the Royal Decree issued by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, commending her competence and experience in her previous position as Secretary of the Supreme Council for the Development of Education and Training.

 

In his name and on behalf of the BQA Board of Directors, His Excellency the BQA Chairman of the Board of Directors thanked Dr. Tariq Mohamed Al-Sindi for his outstanding efforts during his tenure in the Authority, which spanned more than 14 years, during which he assumed many positions, most recently at the helm of its executive management, where he achieved many milestones, and the internal and external initiatives of this national edifice with great devotion and dedication, wishing him lasting success.

 

During the meeting, the Board members were briefed on a number of reports on its agenda, and approved the findings of review of (18) academic programmes and two VET providers, which will be presented to the Supreme Council for the Development of Education and Training for endorsement. 

 

With regard to the results of the National Qualifications Framework processes, the BQA Board of Directors approved the institutional listing of (4) training institutions, the placement of (16) national qualifications, the re-validation of (30) national qualifications, the alignment of (5) foreign qualifications and archiving of (4) national qualifications to NQF, which will be submitted to the SCDET for endorsement. 

 

 

The members of the Board of Directors also discussed a number of topics on its agenda, such as: the proposal for the updated National Examinations Framework, Grade12 pilot NE results, and the membership of the Authority in regional organizations, authorities and institutions, as well as the Authority's financial report 2022.
