BQA" Holds the NQF Advisory Committee Meeting
Institutional listing of a vocational institution, placement of (5) national qualifications, and alignment of a foreign qualification on the NQF are recommended
The NQF Advisory Committee of the Education and Training Quality Authority recommended the institutional listing of a vocational institution, placement of (5) national qualifications offered by two vocational providers, and alignment of a foreign qualification on the NQF as they meet the requirements and standards for institutional listing, qualification placement and alignment of foreign qualifications, as well as the verification of two national qualifications offered by a higher education institution.
This took place during the first virtual meeting of the NQF Advisory Committee of this year, which was held under the chairmanship of the Acting BQA CE, Mr. Munther Almudawi, and in the presence of Committee members, on Sunday, 9 January 2022. The Committee members also reviewed the NQF Register that indicates the institutional listing of 30 vocational institutions, placement of (180) national qualifications, and alignment of (34) foreign qualification on the NQF. They were also briefed on the NQF statistics between September - December 2021.
The NQF Advisory Committee was established by Cabinet Resolution No. 52 of 2013. The Advisory Committee is chaired by the BQA's Chief Executive. It includes representatives from the Ministry of Education (MoE), Higher Education Council (HEC), CSB, Ministry of Labour and Social Development (MLSD), Government Universities, Private Universities, Private Institutes, and the Private Sector. The Advisory Committee oversees all NQF activities, particularly the recommendations of policies related to the Institutional Listing and Qualifications Placement, which are presented to them after being quality assurance by the internal Quality Assurance Committee (QAC) (known as the Academic Committee earlier). The resulting recommended policies and reports are presented to the BQA Board of Directors for approval and endorsed by the Cabinet.
