QQA seeks to enhance the cooperation opportunities with the British Council

Dr. Jawaher Al Mudhahki , Chief Executive of the QQA,  stressed that the promotion of education and training sectors is one of the international highest priorities of sustainable development.
Receiving the newly-appointed British Council Director, Mr. Tony Calderbank  at the QQA office on Wednesday, 14 May 2014, Dr. Al Mudhahki stressed the importance of the exchanges of knowledge and expertise to enhance the quality of education and training sectors and enrich the international models to meet the objectives and requirements of ever-growing development.
During the meeting, the CE praised the role of the British Council in Bahrain in supporting the education and training sectors, and their continuous support for the efforts of  the development of these sectors in particular. She pointed out  that the British Council has fully cooperated with the QQA in organising the awareness workshops in the quality assurance field and inviting the international experts to promote the concepts and the best applications and  practices of quality assurance among stakeholders.
On his part, Mr. Tony Calderbank said that the British Council seeks to find out the joint cooperation opportunities and provide support for these main sectors, and praised the Bahrain model of quality assurance and its impact on developing various sectors.
Dr. Khaled Al-Baker, Senior Director in the General Directorate of Education & Training Reviews gave an overview of the QQA mandates and functions since its establishment within the efforts of the Education Reform Board (ERB) in line with the goals and aspirations of Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.
During the meeting, the cooperation opportunities among the QQA and the British Council in the future were discussed in order to enhance the objectives of both parties.
