This policy promotes responsible AI use with a focus on transparency and accountability. It ensures compliance with national and international standards while safeguarding data integrity.
BQA is committed to protecting the privacy of user data. All AI activities must comply with Bahrain’s Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL), the Protection of Information and State Documents Law, the Cybersecurity Law, and relevant international standards. These frameworks safeguard sensitive information related to individuals and institutions. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and access to data is restricted to authorized users.
We do not share the personal information collected from users with any third parties without prior consent, except where required by law. AI tools used by BQA must operate in a manner that is fair, non-discriminatory, and respects the rights of all individuals.
BQA uses several security measures to protect the data collected. We also regularly monitor our systems to check for and address any intentional security threats and vulnerabilities. Uploading internal or sensitive data to public AI platforms without prior consultation may result in disciplinary action based on Civil Service law.
While we take every precaution to protect your data, it is important for users to take responsibility for their own cybersecurity and be cautious when sharing personal information. Critical decisions involving AI must include human oversight to ensure accuracy and fairness. AI tools should assist, not replace, human judgment in important decisions.
BQA regularly evaluates and audits AI tools and related processes to identify risks, ensure accuracy, fairness, and detect any bias or fraudulent outputs. A clear and transparent process be established for reporting and addressing such issues.
To support ethical AI integration, BQA trains its employees through workshops and guidelines on responsible AI use, risk awareness, and bias mitigation.
BQA is continuously seeking to improve its systems and adopt innovative AI solutions to achieve sustainable improvements in line with the iGA General Policy for the Use of AI.
BQA monitors developments in Bahrain’s national AI regulations and adjust its policies accordingly to remain fully compliant with updated laws and standards.
If you identify a potential security issue with our AI tools, please report it by emailing info@bqa.gov.bh. Any unexpected or biased output generated by AI tools or potential breaches and risks must be reported.
