The Board of Directors of the Education and Training Quality Authority held its regular virtual board meeting, chaired by His Excellency Mr. Ayman Bin Tawfiq Al-Moayyad, Minister of Youth and Sport Affairs, BQA Chairman, on Sunday, 14 March 2021. At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency the Minister paid tribute to the efforts of the wise Government in terms of developing education and training sectors and improving their outcomes. This is reflected in the achievement of the objectives of the match between the skills and cognitive and practical knowledge of graduates and meeting the requirements of the labour market to realise the sustainable development goals in the Kingdom of Bahrain

 

HE Mr. Al-Moayyad also appreciates the efforts of the Education and Training Quality Authority, which seeks to achieve the sustainable development goals in the Kingdom of Bahrain professionally. Moreover, the BQA Board Chairman praised the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Supreme Council for the Development of Education and Training (SCDET) of the BQA successive conferences, the latest of which is the 4th BQA Conference which will be held at the end of this month; not to mention the efforts of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa in supporting the programmes and projects of the development of education and training sectors across the Kingdom.

 

On her part, Dr. Jawaher Shaheen Al Mudhahki, Chief Executive of the Education and Training Quality Authority (BQA), said that the BQA keeps watch on developing the evaluation and review system; particularly in terms of the infrastructure of the education and training institutions. Our review teams sought to achieve such goals in line with the circumstances of COVID-19 pandemic, which imposes a new normal situation. 

 

During the board meeting, the board members were briefed on the number of review reports, among which the findings of review of an academic programme within the Cycle 2 Academic Programme Reviews and eight academic programmes follow-up visits in the Cycle 1 of the programme reviews.

 

The BQA Board of Directors was also briefed on the results of the National Qualification Framework (NQF), which includes the findings of the institutional listing of a vocational training institution and the placement of 27 national qualifications; in addition of the latest developments of the National Examinations and the BQA 4th Conference to be held by the end of March 2021.
